Do people always wait for you to solve the problem? Being reliable can turn into carrying everything. Kun, the second I Ching hexagram, offers a useful way to rethink support.

Earth creates the conditions

Its six broken lines represent yin. The Image invites a person of character to support others with generous virtue, as earth bears things. Earth provides conditions for growth; it does not grow every seed itself.

Line two: straight, square, great

The second line says: straight, square, great. Its traditional commentary connects straightness with inner correctness and squareness with right conduct. A modern application is honest direction, clear boundaries, and enough capacity to support the work.

When reliability becomes a bottleneck
