1. Strength needs timing · 天行健，君子以自強不息。
You have an idea, the energy to begin, and perhaps a chance to make it real. Should you step forward right now?
你有了一个想法，也有开始的力量。现在就应该站出来吗？
Qian, the first hexagram of the I Ching, gives a more useful question: what stage are you in? Its six solid lines all express creative force.
乾是《易经》的第一卦。它提出一个更有用的问题：你现在处在哪个阶段？六条阳爻都体现创造的力量。
But they are read from the bottom upward. One kind of strength takes six different forms as conditions change. This is not a command to push harder every day.
六爻要从下往上读。同一股力量，随着条件改变，会有六种不同的表现；这并不是叫你每天都更用力地往前冲。
2. Build below the surface · 潛龍勿用。
The first line shows a dragon hidden beneath the water. The strength is there, but it has not found the right place to act.
初九的龙潜在水下。力量已经存在，只是还没有到适合施展的时候。
Imagine joining a new team and spotting a problem on your first day. Before announcing a complete overhaul, learn why the process exists and test a small improvement.
想象你刚加入团队，第一天就发现流程有问题。先弄清它为什么形成，再小范围试验改进，不必马上宣布全面推翻。
That is not giving up. It is preparing so your future action has a foundation.
这不是放弃，而是为以后真正有效的行动打基础。
3. Let the work be seen · 見龍在田，利見大人。
At line two, the dragon appears in the field. The work has taken a visible shape, so hiding it forever would waste a real opportunity.
到了九二，龙出现在田野里。成果已经有了可见的形状，再永远藏着，就会错过机会。
Show a small, working result to someone experienced. Ask what it still lacks. The text says it is helpful to meet a great person, not that you have already reached the top.
把一个做出来的小成果拿给有经验的人看，问问还缺什么。爻辞说“利见大人”，并不等于你已经站在最高处。
Visibility and humility can grow together.
让人看见自己，与保持谦逊，可以同时做到。
4. Work, then look back · 君子終日乾乾，夕惕若，厲無咎。
At line three, your responsibilities grow. A project now affects other people, and every new promise makes the next decision harder.
到了九三，责任增加了。一个项目开始影响更多人，每一个新的承诺都会加重下一步的分量。
The text speaks of steady effort by day and alertness at night. In our example, the team lead works hard, then checks what went wrong before promising more.
爻辞讲白天勤勉、夜里警惕。放在这个例子里，负责人努力做事，也在继续承诺之前复盘哪里出了问题。
There is danger here. Careful attention does not erase it, but it can keep danger from becoming avoidable error.
这里确实有危险。谨慎不能让风险消失，却能避免把风险变成原本可以避免的过失。
5. Test the leap · 或躍在淵，無咎。
Line four stands at a threshold. The dragon might leap from the deep. The word perhaps matters: this is a decision, not an order to jump.
九四站在门槛上。龙“或跃在渊”，“或”字很重要：这里需要判断，不是命令你一定要跳。
Suppose you are offered a much larger project. Test your team’s capacity and agree on a way back before you accept.
假设你得到一个更大项目的机会。答应之前，先试试团队能不能承担，也预先留一条退路。
A careful step forward is possible. Taking it only for a title could expose everyone to a risk they did not choose.
谨慎向前是可以的；若只为了一个头衔而跳，可能让所有人承担未经选择的风险。
6. Rise without shutting others out · 飛龍在天，利見大人。
By line five, timing, ability, and position can align. The dragon flies high; the work may finally reach many people.
九五时，时机、能力和位置能够相合。飞龙在天，成果也许终于可以影响更多人。
Yet the line again speaks of meeting a great person. At the height of success, keep someone near who can tell you the truth rather than only praise you.
但这一爻仍然说“利见大人”。成功时，要让敢讲真话的人留在身边，而不只是听赞美。
Influence is useful when it leaves room for other capable people to act.
有影响力的时候，还愿意让有能力的人发挥，这份影响力才用得其所。
7. Know when to stop rising · 亢龍有悔。
At the top line, the dragon has flown too high. The I Ching does not say that success was a mistake. It warns against pushing after the limit is visible.
到了上九，龙飞得太高。《易经》不是说成功有错，而是提醒：界限已经出现，还继续往上冲，就可能有悔。
Imagine a founder extending a once-good plan even as the team burns out. Sharing authority, changing course, or ending an exhausted approach may protect what was built.
想象一个创办者，明知团队已经疲惫，仍把曾经有效的做法不断加码。分权、改路，或结束已耗尽的办法，反而可能守住已有成果。
Knowing how to stop is also a form of strength.
懂得停下，也是一种力量。
8. Which stage are you in? · 乾：元亨利貞。
Qian is a story of one creative force changing with its place. The hidden dragon prepares. The dragon in the field becomes visible. The vigilant worker reviews.
乾卦讲同一股创造力量怎样随位置变化：潜龙先蓄力，田里的龙可以显露，勤勉的人还要懂得反省。
The dragon at the threshold tests a leap. The flying dragon accepts guidance. The overreaching dragon must recognize a limit.
站在门槛的龙试探一跃，飞龙仍需听取意见，飞得过高的龙则要认出界限。
