1. Ready to be seen?
You have prepared quietly. Now you have something useful to show. Should you keep it hidden? Qian, line two, asks us to consider a different stage: becoming visible without becoming overconfident.

2. The dragon appears in the field
The line says: the dragon appears in the field; it is beneficial to see a great person. The dragon has emerged, but it is not yet flying at the summit. Think of developing ability entering the world.

3. Show ability. Stay teachable.
Count the lines from the bottom. The second is central within the lower trigram. The commentary stresses trustworthy words and careful conduct. Meeting a great person is not simply finding a powerful patron. Seek judgement, example, and honest guidance.

4. Share a result, not a grand promise
