Primary and relating hexagrams

YiPhase uses three virtual coins for each line, six times. Build the hexagram from the bottom upward. Three heads and three tails are not simply “yes” and “no”: each coin is counted as 3 or 2, giving totals of 6, 7, 8 or 9.

What changes?

Odd totals make solid yang lines; even totals make broken yin lines. A 6 or 9 is a moving line. First read the primary hexagram for the present pattern, then read the text of the moving line at its actual position.

A second view

Flip each moving line to form the relating hexagram. It suggests a possible direction or contrast, not a fixed prediction. If no lines move, there is no distinct relating hexagram to interpret. The nuclear hexagram is an inner pattern made from lines 2–4 and 3–5 of the primary hexagram; treat it as a secondary perspective, not another event.
